Notes:
Various
sources list the first map published as 1914, 1915, and 1917. The earliest map
in the Wisconsin DOT collection is the 1917 edition. The 1918 map is in a
booklet with stats and info on
A
note on maps issued in the mid to late 1920s indicates that three other
variations were printed: 1) a pocket highway map, 2) a cloth mounted highway
wall map, and 3) a highway service map, issued weekly from May to October.
The
1982 map is completely undated. The 1983-84 map has a picture of an iceboat on
the back side, with "WS 3848" printed on the hull. According to the
Wisconsin DOT, this is a code for the date, 1983-84, although this same code
appears on the 1985-86 map, which is dated in the
legend.
