to the Virginia DOT, the first Dept. of Highways map was produced in 1926,
although a tourist map was issued in 1922.

The
Civil War Centennial Maps of 1961 through 1964 contain the same highway map as
the regular editions on one side. The reverse contains a Civil War Centennial
Map rather than tourist photos.
