Notes:

Maps from the mid-1950s to the present have a code along the lower edge of the unfolded map, or in the legend. This code indicates the month, year, and edition number of the map. Until 1984, this is a 4 digit code, where the first digit indicates the month; the next two digits the year; and the final digit the edition number (1973 and 1974 only indicate the year and edition number). Starting in 1985, this code was expanded to 6 digits, with 2 digits for each item just mentioned. These codes are indicated after the cover description in brackets { }.
