Notes:

Maps from 1965 to 1988 have a code in the lower right corner of the map, just inside the neatline. These codes contain the letters "FLP" followed by a two-digit year. Generally, the two digit year is the same as the date on the map cover, although occaisionally the "FLP" code is one to two years behind the cover date (for example, the 1980-81 map has a code of "FLP79"). This code is the only indication of the date on the 1964, 1965, and 1966 maps. Starting in 1989 only the letters "FLP" appear in the lower right corner.

 

Maps from 1948 to 1953 are sometimes found folded in half, to the dimensions of 4 x 10.

 

Dates for some maps were obtained by using the governor's name. Governors and their terms for one period include: Dennis Joseph Roberts 1951-59 Christopher Del Sesto 1959-61 John Anthony Notte, Jr. 1961-63 John Hubbard Chafee 1963-69 This information can be found at: The Political Graveyard
