Notes:

A copy of the 1930 map was produced with a gubernatorial candidate Trapp's picture on the front in a yellow highway sign. Inside text detailed his campaign platform. This map is dated March 1, 1930 on the cover.

 

A 1942 booklet entitled "Official State Highway Map of Oklahoma" containing pictures and information about Oklahoma features a state highway map at the center fold. This may or may not be the official map for that year.

 

The 1945 map was reported to have the "1945" date rubber stamped on the front cover. It also has the date "May 1945" printed in the legend, with "June 1944" blacked out. It therefore seems likely that a 1944 map (without the overprints) must exist.

 

From 1962 to 1972, and 1975, some maps have a notation "revised to..." on the map, while others have no notation. These are shown as {rv to date}, or { } if there is no notation. Maps dated 1973, 1974, and 1976 have a date near the title of the map, with three or four varieties known for each. 1977 and 1978 maps do not have a date inside. From 1979 to the present, maps are marked with "First Printing" or "Second Printing" inside. These are shown as {1st} or {2nd}. Varieties also exist where different Commissioners are listed on the back (1983 A, for example), but these variations are not detailed here.

 

The Department of Highways also issued a "Detour Map" on a monthly basis during the 1940s at least, and possibly other years as well.
