Notes:

Maps from 1951 to 1977-78 were issued jointly by various combinations of state departments and commissions, with each participant listed on the front cover. Many variants exist within a given year, with the specific department's or commission's return address listed on the back. From 1979 to the present, the full listing does not appear on the front cover, but the specific agency's return address is listed on the back. A list of agencies appears below, but the variations for each map are not listed here. Some varieties also exist with earlier maps, such as a 1941 map with "State Highway Department" only on the cover, vs. "Distributed by State Development Commission."

 

Information from the Connecticut DOT indicates that maps prior to 1932 were intended for internal use only, and not distributed to the public.
