Notes:

The photo used on the covers of the 1957 and 1958 A maps is the same as the photo used on the covers of the 1949 and 1950 maps, except it has been cropped and printed backwards.

Maps dated 1961 through 1971 inclusive had two-folds (three panels) and had two covers that could be considered the front. The master list refers to the middle panel as the front cover.

Starting in 1992, at least two maps have been issued each year, except for in 2004 when no map was published. The first “A” version always has no reference to a price on the cover and is considered the “free” or “unpriced” version. Travel Alberta distributes this “free” version: through its International Office; to travelers at the Visitor Information Centre in West Glacier, MT; and to requests from outside the province for “unpriced” maps.

The second “B” version, known as the “priced” version, has “Suggested Retail Price” printed on the cover and is distributed to requests coming from within the province and to travelers at Visitor Information Centres in Alberta and Field, BC. The 1992 to 1996 issues were “priced” at $1.49 on the cover. The 1997, 1998, and some of the 1999 issues were “priced” at $1.87 on the cover. The remaining 1999 copies as well as all subsequent issues until the present have simply “Suggested Retail Price” on the cover without actually printing the price, but leaving space to add a price. Presumably, this allows the purchasers to assign their own prices for resale.
